Someone 86'ed the 88.

Still a beautiful car.

Absolutely amazing. The car itself is dull, but the patina, the setting. All of these things add to the coolness o this post. Best-of-2014, it is that good

EDIT: Add to the coolness OF this post.

It looks as if it's begging to be restored.

Grumpy said...

Don't restore it! Get it running and leave it as it is!

Agreed. No need for another over-restored trailer queen.

It actually looks like it drives, if not, at least it's being cared for. The tire that is visible looks fully inflated. Also, any info on the cherry motorhome in the back?

I'm with Jay. It looks like it's someone's baby. They probably don't have the money to do what they want with it yet, thus the condition it is in.

Cars like this make me peeved ... if you paint it, it looks like new and the history is gone forever and if you don't, it rusts through and you are left with a lot of holes, basically junk.

Neither option is good. And it's exactly the problem I've with my '61 VW Bus.

Currently justs patched to slow the rust down. (See url if interested, bottom has most current pics.)

you could clear coat it then you would have the patina and still be able to wash it, drive it, basically treat it like a fresh paint job.. this car is amazing. the first muscle car, very fast for its time, around the same time olds came out with a 2 seat version of this car, but GM didn't want it to compete against the corvette so it was trashed, one example was found a few years ago in an attic it was pretty badass idk the name but it was cool , I love this one btw, id buy it in a second, very rare find...love it

Reminds me of some of the classic cars roaming around Havana, Cuba. Have a look at
cubaautos.org. You'll find a couple of nice ones there. The 4-door is my favorite. The '56
hardtop looks sharp too. Leaving the car the way it is would be nice, however, I'd make sure
the frame has no cancer. It'd be a cryin' shame to scrap it if that was the case.
