That's not a Grand Marquis, just a Marquis. Two totally different cars in that era.

Nice to know one of those are still on the road.. I think these cars competed against the Chrysler E class......It could also be pushed that they competed against Chryslers K cars as well ( Dodge 400/ Chrysler LeBaron )

A Fairmont with Tempo styling cues. A mid 90s Grand Marquis on my street, driven by a young man who probably inherited it, has the last four letters of the name badge pried off.

I chuckle every time I notice it. :)

man, this is an unappealing piece of car, and the "automatic overdrive" badge is the cherry on top. excellent find. great setting.

Wasn't crazy about these back in the day (probably due to the lack of a V-8 option) but it looks pretty good now. Ford would sell you the same car with "LX" badges and a slightly detuned Mustang GT motor and suspension but Mercury was having none of that. Considering that Merc was once the "performance division" at FoMoCo always found that a bit strange...

Great setting, and the "Automatic Overdrive" badge shot is great.

The Automatic Overdrive was a $237 option for the Marquis.

Awesome to see one again, I always liked these and their Fairmont cousins.
