Hmm. I've been sitting on these photos since August of 2012. Probably because they were taken with my phone. Also, I'm not crazy about the strip mall setting. But I hate the shots less than I did three years ago.

And that tree growing out of the roof. Yeesh.

I reckon the owner should get rid of the AR wheels and go back to the stock alloys.

However, I rather have a 70 series LC or a SWB Trooper.

Man, standing on that bumper and accessing that roof rack must be immensely satisfying.

i have a friend that would get a hard-on just looking at this post. i'm glad you decided to put this one up after 3 years.

i'd also prefer a Toyota to the Mitsu build quality, but aside from importing an BJ70 ($15k+) there's no way to get this type of package stateside. the color is really working for this one too.

At first glance, this doesn’t really look like the other classic range we often expect to see because of the physical quality that it is in. It still looks almost brand new perhaps due to proper regular maintenance by the owner. Nevertheless, still a natural beauty indeed.

I wouldn't mind having a swb Troop...or even a Trooper II

Well these were built in Japan in late 1984 and usually arrived into States and listed as a 1985 model. If it was a 1983 it would have right hand drive and would be a JDM branded Pajero. I know I have had one since 1985. There of course was one none major problem with this 2.6 engine in that the valve ports were too close to the cylinder bore and would crack when over heated. And overheating one was common. The reason was that Mitsubishi was overly concerned with meeting U.S. emissions. So they ran hot. The simple solution was 2 part. One to put a lower temp thermostat and maybe a bigger radiator, and when the head gasket blew cracking the head to replace the head with a better made after market head designed to with better valve ports.I must say the chassis and body were top notch.

One more thing .. most likely it is a 1986 model. I notice it has the blackened bumpers and grill and head light enclosures. The one I have which left the factory in 1984 has the original chrome bumpers, grill and head light enclosures. I think the chrome looks much more classic.
