I'm speechless, If I had found this car I would track down the owner and offer him or her a reasonable sum for this magnificent machine. ever since I first laid eyes on the f10 hatch I have longed to acquire one. This one needs some tlc and a good ol' sticker removal. you get all those dents out and she will shine right up like a brand new penny. God, do I love this car, I would trade my brat in a heartbeat for this bad ass little datsun.

nice. I photographed this car's taillights on I-405 from 3 lanes away at 70 mph, a few weeks before the other recent f10. then my camera died. I spotted it later in the pearl district and snapped it with my iPhone the night you came and gave me a charge-up because my alternator had gone bad. far stranger and less ugly than the other one, right?

Wow. I've never seen a doofier Citroen SM derivative. Reminds me of Micro machines toys.

Don't get me wrong... this is an amazing find.

I believe I photographed this within a day or two of you posting the other one, which I found very hard to believe. So glad we've documented both bodies! I'm not sure which I'd rather have, I think the hatch retains most of the storage space but does look a lot more interesting. If I was going to transport passengers more than bikes though, they'd surely prefer the Sport Wagon.

Epic grill indicator period, the mid-late 70s. The owner of this one was super cool, he hadn't done any of this stickering and actually hopes to fix the body work and repaint it. This holds a very special place in my heart, one of my favorite JDM finds ever. But the story of yours (and photo 3) keeps it right on the same level.

This makes me laugh. As a youngster when these were new, I thought they were the ugliest car on the road. I mean THE UGLIEST!

Somehow....I now like them. Funny how time changes perspective.

I'm honestly not sure if I've ever seen the hatch version before. I would also offer the owner a sizeable sum if I lived there. Amazing find and thank you for documenting.

Great to hear the owner plans on fixing the dent and taking the stickers off. These are such quirky cars.

I owned a 1976 Datsun F10 hatchback 3 speed manual. It was my first car that I picked up real cheap in 1982. It ran great, but was totalled a few years later by an idiot that didn't stop for a red light. Wish I still had it.
