I remember when the 900 was THE big thing, cuz James Bond had one in License Renewed.
Oh, and I had aluminum louvers on my Mustang back in the 80s...

Ditto on Bryan's comment. This car would be extremely hot shit, if it wasn't for the god aweful US spec crash bumpers. Those fricken things look like they attached parcel shelves to the front and back of the car. But one of these with Euro style bumpers is neck breaker.

Louver/10. Would look way better with the Euro spec bumpers.

Black spray painted wheels are so boring...

There really isn't much (if any) difference between the euro-spec and US-spec bumpers on these cars.

Both can be used as picnic tables.

i never got the appeal. the drivetrain seemed relatively fragile (for every "bulletproof" comment i find, there are approximately 1,000 people who say otherwise), the packaging, layout and weight distribution of said drivetrain, and the foreign factor making repairs a costly and time-consuming venture. all of these are totally and endlessly excusable to the enthusiast, but then you throw in those terrible proportions...

...perfectly illustrated by the profile shot. the car could lose about 6" between the back of the door and the rear wheel arch, even then it would still look odd. as it sits with that extra length, there's the illusion that it sags at the b-pillar like a truck with a broken frame. limp. brokedick. vaguely exotic like a thai hooker with a nasty surprise tucked away and waiting for the first unfortunate soul stupid enough to give it a shot.

I had a 95 900 Turbo coupe just like this one, same color too. Great car, 5 spd, never got bored with it...sure wish I could get it back...had to sell for a down payment on a new home.

This is before saab came out with a 16 valve engine, making this a 8v 2.0 Turbo.. Very clean and is actually a diamond in the rough. See those mud flaps? That 65 dollar option at purchase is the reason that this saab is cancer free. I once had one in four door sedan Turbo at the age of 16.. It had 268 thousand miles on it and would cruise 5 deep at 125mph with every window open + Sunroof with ease.. that car saw many a ditch and multiple broken control arms. replace the control arm, rinse and repeat... rust took her from me after a few VT winters but would I jump on the chance to buy another high mileage classic saab with low rust and maintenance records? yes! I'd purchase it over a new car anyday. Actually, thats what I am kind of driving...The king of all saabs.. saab 9000 AERO
