Paint Recall: 1989 Ford Mustang LX.

The owner assured me it was not an intentional paint finish. She said the car was part of a batch that was recalled for a factory paint issue, but the relative who owned it at the time couldn't find the required ownership documents and missed the boat. I assured her it was much better this way. She was pretty detached about the whole thing, but she did say it was fantastically reliable transportation and that she planned to drive it until it died.

I'm amazed there haven't been any comments on this post.

This is amazing. I love the fact that the owner just keeps driving it and apparently is not overly concerned with the condition of the paint.

Tony, I like it that you told the owner "it's better this way".

Yeah, it is.

My uncle has an '88 Mustang LX notchback that he bought brand-new and which he still owns.

I'm being real honest here - his car has the exact same paint issues that the featured car has! It's unbelievable - the paint's peeled in the exact same places. This could be a twin to my uncle's car - and if anybody's wondering, no he's not selling it.

I can't believe it. This opens up a whole new type of OPC to dream about.
