Growing up I never particularly cared for Volvos. At this point in time I do appreciate them. I wouldn't be surprised if that wagon has a standard (Stick Shift) transmission

Please post more pictures of vintage Volvos, in any and all condition.
Thanks,
Dad

I dunno exactly what's going on with those back windows, but what happened to vent or otherwise interesting rear windows? On most if not all modern coupes, the rear seat windows are fixed. Likewise crossovers that have little third windows. I honestly feel like my opinion of modern jellybeans would substantially improve if this was changed.

Agreed with Calvin's comments on the rear windows. Fresh air is indeed an endangered species with modern cars and once electronic toll/parking collection becomes universal look for sealed front windows to be next! I guess we are all supposed to use the AC 365 days a year no matter how nice it is outside.

The GM Colonnade wagons had little flip out vents on the back windows....haven't seen one of those in a while.

Is this a LWB version?

That is a 1969 or 1970.

@christopher rhoades - nope, standard 145.

@Hellberg - I think it's a '69. Didn't those rear side windows go to one piece in '70?

Hellberg is correct at this being a 1969 or 1970, which one can deduce due to the presence of the split rear windows (this became one piece of glass in 1971). We can further deduce that it is a 1969 because Volvo added a rear window wiper (as well as the ability to spray some washer fluid on the rear window and remotely clean the glass from all the way up at the driver's seat, high tech stuff!) in 1970 (which this lovely Volvo features). My 1969 145S does not feature the rear wiper, but I love it all the same.

I take it back! This lovely 145 does NOT feature the rear wiper or wiper fluid nozzle! I must have had multiple windows open. Huzzah, it is a 1969. Le sigh...
