Mismatched wheel covers? Check.

Taped up or clear caulked tail lamp? Check.

PNW green? Yup.

Love it.

Excuse me, I think I hear some Birkenstocks calling.

These were the good old Volvos! (Unlike the crap they made from the 90's, on).

Better get some new rear springs though....or does he have his big fat mother-in-law in the trunk?

Oh! Great!
There's also an old red civic sedan in the back!
This is also a gem...
Can you retrace it?

These had a rube Goldberg-esque mechanical fuel-injection system. Good luck, even back in the day, finding anyone outside of a Vovo dealer who could work on it!

(This solving puzzles thing to post is getting out of hand- had to just go through FOUR freaking puzzles!!!!)

Hey Pete have you seen the Rube Goldberg Honda commercial on Youtube? It has to be the most complex video on the whole site by miles.

Annon, Thanks. No...I'll have to look that up! (Should be good!)

My favorite part is the windshield wiper robot haha.

Sneaky Pete, there may well be a mother-in-law trapped in the truck, but typically 240 butt-sag like this displays is due to worn out rear trailing arm bushings, not tired springs. They're kind of a pain in the butt to fix (ha!).

Elvis: Hmmm..if it is a MIL in the trunk, looks like the owner may have picked the wrong pain-in-the-neck to get rid of!!! :D (Somebody knows their Volvos! Can you work on the fuel injection system, too? :D _

Anon: That was amazing! It was like one of those domino set-ups on steroids! (As a commercial though? Darn! All that time, and instead of showing the product.... Someone spent many millions of dollars to entertain us...but I doubt it would result in one extra car being sold. Wow...)

the front grille and headlight surroundings is pre 1978. This is correct 1978-look:

@ Sneaky Pete - step 1, remove 1978 B21 & all associated, PITA K-Jet FI. step 2, replace with late B230F redblock ('93-). step 3, enjoy!

@ Hellberg - good eye! The grille is -'77, but the headlight surrounds pictured in your '78 example were available in '77 (and possibly earlier) as well.

K-Jet is romantic.

Well this is weird - this post from Jan '17 showed up in my OPC RSS feed today, dated May 22 (following the '89 Tracer).
Glitch in the matrix?

@dead_elvis — i edited this post last night to correct the model year based on these comments. saving the changes must've triggered something in the matrix. thanks for the heads-up!
