Rich paid $43 for this abandoned car, which was the cost of the title paperwork three decades ago. 300k miles later, he's changed the oil exactly once and will advise you to do the same. Picture #3 is his homemade key.

Why can't I find a bad ass Datsun F10 sitting around? I'm hard pressed even to find any Datsun F10 anywhere. I am envious to the max right now. It may sound weird but the F10 is one of my dream Datsuns. and she's in such good shape, minimal rust, no big dents. I'd pop off those unflattering hub caps but other than that she's perfect. I could just stare at that car for hours, if it was the hatch it would have the hexagonal taillight pods. that would make it even more Interesting. I hope Rich knows how lucky he is to have such a rare machine.

What a steal! It just needs a bit of cleaning but at that price I wouldn't complain. I've only seen one of these in person in my whole life! Such a quirky and long car for a two-door hatchback. Not surprising since it's a Datsun!

If it burns or leaks enough oil, there's no need to change it, right?

Still, Rich score himself a deal.

Great White Tiburon...if you can find this car Im sure stealing it wouldn't be that difficult considering the key that is used to start it up. lol

@Andrew David Baron, lol, If I were closer to the west coast I would probably offer my Tiburon in trade, that's how much I love this car. but yeah that key rivals the no.1 favorite makeshift key for old cars...the screwdriver.

Hey that's MY car! I wondered what happened....When I cleaned out the garage I found the keys next to a half-quart of oil! Thanks Rich.

How can he have changed oil just once and the engine didn't broke?

I bought an F10 wagon in the mid-late 1980's. $170.
Such a smooth revving engine. I forget if it ran to 8200, or 8400 rpm. Regardless, it was amazing.
It had a Manuel transmission that every automotive magazine bitched about for it's disconnected feel.
It was a complete joy until the chassis mounts for the engine-transmission rusted through. I had no money to have it fixed.
It was wonderful all the same.
I'd gladly drive an unrusted one today.
