My uncle had one of these. He was really proud of it. It got about 7 mpg but who cares when you've got a ride like this.

Almost 10 years later an what was avant garde became kitsch.

Hang on there while I bring the torch.

Opera windows and loose pillow seats, could this car BE any more mid 70's? This car looked a lot better in earlier years as a true hardtop.....there was in hardtop '75 Toro in that year's brochure but I've never seen one on the road.

The "dual" exhaust on the '75 Toro was actually twin mufflers and tailpipes branching off a single converter....a prelude of what was to come in 2015 when even 4 cylinder station wagons get dual tips for some reason. But on the Toro, it looks good.

Saw a nice '76 back home in NY about two weeks ago. As Richard said, nice to see there's a few left!

This car has been well kept! A friend of mine's parents bought a new 1979 Toro which happened to have a diesel engine. It was charcoal gray with red leather and cloth interior. It was a smooth ride!

Never mind how ridiculously inefficient and impractical these were, even when they were new. You always knew what this was and what it stood for. It had character and presence, which is arguably in short supply on today's roads. So nice to see one so lovingly cared for.

Those shots of the opera window and the seat belt warning message are awesome. That is one 70's font on that warning message.

not only a third brake-light but also a forth.... 11 years ahead of the mandatory 3rd brake-light.

Hideous mid 70's GM garbage.

Those aren't brake lights they are vents for the flow through ventilation system.

No they're brakelights ...... Oldsmobile Toronado had them on these bodies from 1971-78 & Buick Riviera had them too from 1974-76...

apparently Eric doesn't know that those are brake light, how does he know that these are garbage? Probably wasn't even alive during the 70's
