I've heard people say that AMC couldn't design cars but these early 70s Ambassadors prove otherwise.. great proportions and overall an awesome example of 70s American "fuselage" styling. I love that rear bumper/taillight combo too!

Oh man, it's perfect. The lettered tires/slotmags, the shade of brown, the vinyl roof, the proportions....I want it.

Tony, thanks for posting the pic of the faded AMC emblem, but where is it on the body of the car?? I don't see it in any of the places one would expect.

you can just make out the emblem in the second pic. it's below the rear windshield on the trunk. one-inch by one inch square, i'd estimate :)
