I have to wonder how those headlights worked. Wouldn't that create terrible blind spots when turning?

Hey Matt- how about checking the oil with the spare tire on the hood? And the single wiper! A barrel of four wheel fun anyway you look at it.

I've never considered that Matt, good point. And Dave it's easy to take off the wheel from the hood but yes it needs another wiper.

Well, not much goes wrong under the bonnet needing checking. Also these are 55mph machines, so blind spots are not such an issue. Buy the s3 version, if it is. The strength of these vehicles is their simplicity and ruggedness. Maybe not for posing on the boulevard in, but generally most drivers are fair dinkum and not pretenders. Buy a rice burner if you need a gadget machine, but I doubt it will still be operational and still burning rice in 30 years time without many dollars being spent on it.
