I was about to say its too bad the red graphics aren't intact... until I realized they were designed with that interruption over the rear wheel. Quite a find!

also, were these ever turbocharged or is it just a sticker?

Awesome find, love the graphics.

This particular one wasn't turbocharged, no - this is a low-spec version ("GLX" badge notwithstanding - I'm pretty sure that came from an early-1980s Ford). There was a Mirage GT that was offered in 1989 only with a 1.6 SOHC turbo, then switched to a more reliable naturally-aspirated 1.6 DOHC for later years. Neither version is particularly plentiful - but the nigh-identical Colt GT version exists in fair numbers.

Nice Mirage - lots of "patina". :-)
I had that 1989 Mirage Turbo - THAT was a sweet car. Lots of pep and action 0-60, nice to spin that turbo up and take quick action passing on the highway. It was a completely different car from the standard model: fat low profile (expensive!) tires, big disc brakes all around, stainless steel exhaust, special interior, little spoiler wing off the roof over the hatch. Man o man I loved that car. I got more speeding tickets in the 4 years I had that car than all others combined. LOL I bought it with pretty high mileage and it spent a lot of expensive time in the shop...
I think it is my all time favorite car (for driving at least). Which is weird, considering that my second favorite was a plain Jane chocolate brown late 70's Volvo 245 wagon.
Go figure...
