Nice old bob tail!

Cute. Funny how the hardtop makes it look like a postal Jeep. That's way older than 1983, by the way. The small parking lights, tiny round taillights (which might not be original) and lack of side markers put it at 1968 or earlier.

I based the year purely on the factory emissions window sticker, which said 1983 but might not be original.

The jeep looks charming. Does it still run? So cool.

Ben, it's understandable. :)
Jeep model year changes are a lot like VW Beetles. I think this is somewhere around 1968-69, based on the wiper pivots being below the windshield, the fuel filler location, the smaller parking and taillights, and no side marker lights (which were just reflectors until 1970 and could easily have been removed). This actually looks like the factory steel top! As always, a fun find captured in your great photography style.

This is one of my favorite Jeeps! It looks so perfectly natural with the faded paint and muddy tires. Not only does it run, the owner's still muddin'.
