Already Nissan? Wasn't the Maxima the first to be renamed?

Good catch, coop. It's badged both Nissan and Datsun. Post title revised.

Between 1982 and 1984, most Datsun/Nissan cars carried both badges. The 1982 200SX I owned when I was 17 read, "Datsun 200SX By Nissan".

For most models, including the 200SX, 1984 was the last year that the Datsun name appeared.

The car in the three pics is a 1983, not a 1982.

I had an 85, with the newer halogen lites, but the same exact color as this one. Great car, I sold it to some guy for $350... and he said it passed inspection with flying colors. lol

The 200SX (S110), 280ZX and Maxima (910) were the last cars during the name change transition that were marketed as Datsuns; in 1984 all three had prominent Nissan badges despite the "DATSUN" badge remaining intact on their tailgates, which would not appear on 1985 and later units (although 1986 was the last year the Datsun badge could be found on Canadian-market units).

For 1984, a brand-new 200SX (S12) was introduced along with the 300ZX. The revised 200SX used the 2.0L (CA20E) OHC engine in the coupe while the hatchback used either that or a 1.8L (CA18ET) OHC turbo engine, which was discontinued for 1987 and instead used, for that year, the same 3.0L (VG30E) V6 engine used in the 300ZX (non-turbocharged) and Maxima.

For 1985, the Maxima changed to front-wheel-drive, along with the use of the VG30E 3.0L V6 engine in place of the old L24E 2.4L I6 whose lineage goes back to the engine used in the 1970-73 Datsun 240Z sports coupe.
