Great shots! Love the burgandy color of the car, and the leaves on the ground. Love these little BMWs.

These pictures look oddly saturated and contrasted. Perhaps the car really does look that good; in that case, color me impressed.

Another testament to the idea of spending a lot more to maintain a car than what it is worth. Unless this gem came from some very dry place in the SW it has probably had to have some rust issues fixed before the gorgeous repaint. Not sure if that was a stock color (which would have been my preference if I were restoring one of these cars) but it looks like the paint job was executed to a very high standard. How did it look in person and up close?

2002's, and their sibling the 1600, always have had the most wonderful silhouette and design. I kind of think of these as among the last of the "genuine" BMWs, that is, before BMW "went commercial" and started loading down their beautifully engineered cars with lots of luxury and comfort items. Perhaps the Bavaria of the same vintage should also be considered a "real" BMW, in that it is a tremendous performer, even though it is a large-ish sedan designed with an eye towards comfort and a moderate amount of luxury.

I'm not saying that post-2002 model-era BMWs are not wonderful cars. It's just that there is something so wonderfully engaging about these simple, spartan, minimalist 2002s. They're really cool and a well set-up one will drive like it is on rails, with wonderful balance, great road-feel, superb cornering and satisfying acceleration.

Great find, OPC!!! Thanks for sharing!

What a clean 2002. Those E30 wheels look great on it.

too shiny for me, but at least they didn't fake it into a tii!

i bet it's no coincidence that it's parked in front of that perfect home with the perfectly manicured yard.
