When I was a kid my next-door neighbor had one of these and I was enamored with it. Looks a bit silly to me now.

I love this. To me this is the epitome of GM-- the big "silhouette" text on the side perpetuates the idea that a GM owner will take immense, sentimental, irrational pride in their car, whether it's a '58 Eldo Brougham or a dustbuster van.

What was the statement made about these in the movie "Get Shorty"? The Cadillac of minivans.

Wonderful photos and keen eye. These are just getting old enough now that they are starting to look extremely odd.

Thanks again for you work on this blog.

I particularly love the moment of taking in the gas cap graphics. I bet someone get a pat on the back for bringing up that idea at the meeting, just imagine his early 90s GM smirk. The extra pep-in-his step, as he sauntered off to lunch.

In the early 90's I lived near the Tarrytown plant where GM assembled these vehicles. A trip downtown was almost surreal with Dustbuster vans lining both sides of the street and parked in every third driveway. If they'd been that popular everywhere I guess they'd still be building them.

BTW, this van wins the "Vehicle I'd least like to be driving when I hit a moose" award, hands down.

Great lighting in these shots, especially the side shot.

These are retro futuristic in every way.

One of the finest uses of meshies. Vans saw a lot of meshies at the time, didn't they? Blechk. Solid tag.
