Man, that's nice! My MIL would really enjoy this as a daily driver. Looks like it was built for simplicity and reliabity. You just don't see 'em like this anymore.
Lovely car, one of the best designs of the American Motor Industry, a perennial classic. But also, the first two are excellent pictures that made justice to that design! On the contrary (and sorry for being a little critical), I don't like very much the third one, it looks like it was taken with a long lens, that makes like the car and the Hair Studio is in the same plane. Maybe if you use wider lens (or adjusting your zoom to a wider angle) you can add some sense of distance and 3D ... Anyway, my five cents to your outstanding blog. Thanks!
Perhaps a nod to the audience of this blog or a generational thing but I love how there is more interest in the Pacer/Trailduster/Futura than this overrated, glossy paint boremobile.
which reminds me. i was with some canadians on the 4th, and i said to a stranger walking by, "happy 4th!" and the canadians said, "what did you say? is that really a thing that you say?" i had to explain that yes, i suppose that is a thing we say.
Agreed with Anon. Now, if it were primer black or gray with various mismatched patches of another shade of primer on it sitting on some Ansen Sprints, i'd like it.
A little car trivia; on the 56'Chevy's along with the 49'Caddy's the gas tank is behind the left ( driver's side) tail light. Pull the lens down, & presto theres the cap to the gas tank!! My cousin had a 56 four door sedan. It was in fair shape and since it wasn't a Pillarless hardtop I don't think it was worth that much in 1983.
