What a basic beauty! From every angle, the design is very clean and almost timeless. And the
scenery is terrific too. Can't say that I like those swing-out vent windows in the rear doors, but
then again, you can't have everything can you? Hey Don, check this out! You'll really like it!

My first car was a '78 Chevy Malibu Coupe. It was white with an all red interior. I loved that car, it was a beast. I hardly ever see these come up for sale let alone on the streets. They must be pretty rare today.

I had an '81 4-door sedan that I got as a freebie from a friend. I was in the process of
fixing it up for my MIL when my wife suffered a stroke in 2003. After that, my BIL drove
it until the tranny went. I wound up scrapping it in 2005. As I recall, the throttle body
was the most troublesome part on the car. I couldn't set the idle no matter what I did.
The engine would rev wildly most of the time. Other than that, the car was in great
shape for its age. Seeing this one reminds me of my old sedan. Great find!

More interesting than the shiny red and white Bel Air that was posted on the 4th.

something about this car screams "registered sex offender" to me. it just looks so anachronistic when you consider the date the pictures had to have been taken vs. the immaculate original condition, and the only type of person who'd preserve such a vehicle would have to be the kind of guy that cultivates a patchy moustache and combover, wears athletic socks over his flip-flops and refuses contacts/lasik over a nice set of cokebottle bifocals.

while slightly less conspicuous than a full-blown pedovan, any mother would be right to call her kids in from the front yard when this thing is cruising the neighborhood.

I never liked these cars. I remember a few people owning them. They were the regular 4-door sedans. One was a 1978-80. And the other was a 1981-83 body. I remember the back windows did not roll down. I was told the reason was for either child safety or the way the back door was designed. Whatever the reason was it really turned me off, by having that stupid pop out window for the rear passenger.

Those sealed rear windows on the 4-doors were right up there with Ford's horn-button-on-the-turn-signal-lever in my personal "stupidest ideas of the 70's" contest. These were great cars otherwise, though....some of the 78-79 wagons even had a factory 350.

Hello do you know where this car is located. I'm looking for one just like it. Does anyone have the vin # I'm trying to hint down my father's old wagon.
