I love the typeface on the older ones. Big, dorky, majestic letters.

Those look like the valve covers off a crate 350... it seems weird to me seeing those on a Jag.

The engine swap looks tidy but I prefer the original 12-cylinder that came in this car, the smoothest engine I've ever driven. The Series II all had the same bumpers, in the US at least. I had a '76.

Hot Rod Magazine bought a similar '74 Jaguar with a 350 chevy swapped in and proceeded to supercharge the heck out of the tired motor, haha. I suppose the 350 was put into this one for the sake of reliability and cost?

this is all "no" as far as i'm concerned. the lwb proportions are awkward. the SBC might be "reliable" and "easy to work on" and "cheaper than dirt to run," but the jag v12 commands respect, demands commitment and punishes the weak of heart and mind.

That engine bay shot is beautiful.

The owner told me he got the car basically free, because the V12 was leaking everything from everywhere. He had done similar engine swaps in the past (professionally), and if I were him it's the option I'd have gone for too. With a mild cam, it's definitely making more power.

I'm not sure we'll find another XJ12 that's as honest of an OPC, a well appreciated and regularly used daily driver.
