Where I come from most of the early '80s Hondas have rotted away with the help of road salt and general neglect.

Would be nice to know what has made this one survive - it can't be the warm climate since this is from Oregon?

You nailed the biggest factor with road salt Mikael. And while Oregon isn't hot year round, it also doesn't get too cold. Moderate temperatures and moderate-yet-consistent precipitation seem to be easy on our cars.

Man, that thing is awesome. Love the color and the louver. Shame about that one trim ring missing.

That is a very nice, very clean car I would otherwise never look to own.

our grandpa scored a civic hatchback of this vintage with something like 15k miles on it in about 2008 for a thousand dollars. the thing was about four inches off the ground, and we knew there was no way grandpa would keep the car, so we just waited to see who would get it. it went to uncle john, who drives it every day.

so freakin reliable. i love the torquey little honda engines.

i don't really want an accord, but i'd take a civic from any year.

I had a beige 79. It was not that reliable. It drove very well... even the Hondamatic was smooth, the dash was well designed and easy to use... I liked the car, but Honda had a ways to go in terms of seat quality and reliability. My seat would fall straight back, the foam was nearly gone after 100k, and the door would not close well.

I'd take this Accord. A classic beauty that is Honda originality.

Yeah honda engines are torquey. Looking forward to the 2020 honda accord engine.
