I love the woman in shot 2's mild interest-- you made her notice something she wouldn't have noticed, even if she only thought about it for a few seconds. I can't even fathom what life is like for people who don't notice cars. Do they have extra space in their brains?
I had next version of this (a -87) several years, most changes only to looks.
Not too bad to drive, decent family car but nothing sporty either. I managed to put something like 30k miles to mine until it started to rust away. A real killer to this era cars here in North: Mechanics and engines last for ever and quite reliable.
Only one one time I was stranded in the middle of the road and that was faulty fuel gauge as I later learned: I run out of fuel.
Chrome nuts on wheels were imho stock, mine had those too. And small chromed caps for hub.
The owner had slathered a lot of youthful boyish stickers on it, so pride may be one of the feelings coursing through his veins. I've never seen so many vagina references on a car, by a longshot. I can't believe I forgot about these photos since October 2012!

A friend of mine owned a car like this. His was the 4-door version with the hatchback in the rear. Compared to this car, it was rather plain looking, but man, did this thing last! His son inherited it after his passing in the mid '90's. It wouldn't surprise me if one of his kids wasn't still driving it!
I had a 1982 GLC.....same design as this. Best car I ever had, and I've had some sports cars in my time. Handled well, great visibility, great mileage. If the rust hadn't gotten it, I don't know how long I'd have kept it. Wonderful car.

Love that profile shot with the late 70's-early 80's stripe graphics. That is a banner worthy picture, for sure.

WE had plenty of these 4 years ago in my country ,TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO ,however we call it ,FORD LASER,just lights a bit different
