not crazy about this color, but i suppose it's authentic to the period. i do love the lines--probably my fave gen of the galaxie.

i shot this car a few weeks ago but was waiting to post the photos because it was a pretty sloppy, depressing day. these, by contrast, are some beautiful pictures.

This was shot in an alley in North Portland in the early summer. I just recently found the car lives really close to my apartment. I finally realized we actually don't post many Galaxies, and this one is pretty satisfying despite colors that were clearly pushing the boundaries of what my iphone could handle.

Love the Galaxie.
The 3rd shot is awesome.

In about 1977, I bought a 1964 Galaxie 500 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and drove it for about two years as my college and summer job car. Bronze paint. The 289 engine and 3-speed on the column made getting up to speed a somewhat lumbering experience, but the overdrive made highway cruising a bit more pleasant. Sold it for the same $600 I paid when the throw-out bearing started to go, and I didn't have skills or facilities to fix it myself.
