i can't tell. are the plates current? how must the battery in this thing be holding up after 28 years?

This one must be a customized electric Le Car... because normally, they were gas powered. My neighbor had one of these ugly things, along with a Renault 18i Sportwagon. lol

Who knows when this thing went electric, it's been a popular idea for quite a while. But I'd be guessing it's doin just fine with them hubcaps.

Guy by the name of Chandler Waterman in Athol MA converted these cars to electric. He did a fairly lousy job. The accelerator had 3 positions, off, slow, and fast. The batteries were behind the seats and barely held down. They would have crushed the passengers in a wreck. I know someone how has one of these, and the first thing he did was gut it and rebuild the battery boxes. Then he put in a real controller so the accelerator would work as intended. It's pretty nice now.
