Apparently Ben photographed this truck some time ago. The owner has been monitoring the blog ever since, waiting for the post. He pointed out that the dash has acquired some new characters, although some of the new ones still need to be glued down.

Love these trucks. Awesome graphics on this one. Color-matched rims are always sweet.

I knew a young manager who drove one of these trucks when I started at Taco Bell in the
early '90's. She and her husband bought the truck new in '84 and were the only owners. I was
amazed at how long that thing stayed on the road. It was a fixture at the restaraunt all through
the '90's and into 2001, when it was retired to farm duty after racking up well over 200K miles.
I visited my old workplace recently and spoke with the woman who owned it. She told me that
her teen-age son was in the process of getting the truck roadworthy again. Maybe I'll see it
parked at the restaraunt again someday. Just goes to show how long these B-2300's last in
the hands of the right owners.

What a wonderful old truck. I love this and it is totally cool. Really great to see these things still on the road.

Good kudos to the owner who as done a good job taking care of it and keeping up on the maintenance.

Wonderful.

We had an '84 B2000 for a AutoValue parts chaser, but it was more stripped down and had "Sundowner" emblems on each side. It was beat to hell by many generations of teenage Autovalue employees.

A coworker and I broke off the "Sun" part of the badge. It was the oldest and if the 2 late 80's Rangers (which had working AC) were taken already you were stuck with the "downer".

I learned to shift without a clutch in the downer...the gearbox was extremely easy to perform that feat.

Ha! I quite like these things, like Couriers I never seem able to pass one up. Finally I was able to add the Simpsons tag.
