Ah yes, I walked by this thing many times with Gustav. So sad about the black eye. Looks like this thing got punched right in the eye.

Also, who doesn't like that wheel combo?

SICK.
I like it just the way it is, so sinister it hurts.

Not an Impala wagon but it's a Chevelle wagon.

thanks for the tip, anon, but i'm gonna go with what the owner told me.

@ben: i'd hate the missing headlight if it were my own car, and i'd be a lot less enthused about this altogether if i didn't know that it was a daily driver, but i find the black eye an almost theatrical touch, and in keeping with the character of the car (and its owner).

trim is off 'cause, tragically, it's headed in for a repaint soon. glad to capture it unrestored, will document any future changes.

i asked the owner, "okay if i take some pictures of your car?"

he said, "go ahead. can you give me one?"

"do you have an email address?" i asked. "it's digital."

"oh," he answered. "no, i don't have one of those."

Chevelle!

Yup. The '65 Impala IS even bigger.
Try a little crude research, like wikipedia, or whatever. There's just way too many old-timers out here that were kids when this car was new. Did the owner also mention it can go 300mph, or was once owned by Abraham Lincoln? Don't believe that either.

Since it looks a Chevelle but the owner thinks its an Impala, ww should just meet in the middle and call it a Gazelle.

The owner of this car doesn't know squat about cars just to set the record straight the car pictured is a 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle station wagon
