Unfortunate wheels. . . I have always liked these Opels, though.

Bummer about them wheels...

Wheels are hideous, styling is timeless. 14" minilites in charcoal would be the nads. Had neighbors that had 2 sons and each had one. Screaming orange and Scary yellow. Was always jealous. I was driving a Datsun 510 at the time. Paint it red and ditch the wheels.

What I love most about the wheels is that they match front and back license plate holders! And hey, at least they ain't chrome.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, would LOVE to say I had an early 70s Opel. But I'm not sure I could pull off the GT look. Drive it till the engine dies or blows up, and if you can't find parts, jam a Japanese 1.6 twin cammer in there!

I wonder if this is the owner's dream look for the car? I wonder how many people have tried to buy it?

People need to learn that giant ass modern rims on a classic look like sheeeaaat. You can get 13" performance tires folks, you just gotta look harder.

One of my friend's moms owns an Open GT. It ran when parked, probably sometime in the 80s. She literally parked it in a barn covered and left it there. She refuses to let anyone restore it because it was her first car. Like, adamantly refuses to let anyone near it except for just to look at it.

Oh well.

These had a habit of one of the hidden headlights not revolving over.
You would see them driving around with one headlamp up and the other flush.
I rode on the rear package shelf of one when I was a teen. Shotgun! A squeeze even for a small kid!
